Who we are REthinkthings is a Liverpool based product design agency owned and directed by 3D creative consultant Ilsa Parry who was a contestant on the BBC2 reality documentary “Design for Life” with Philippe Starck. Ilsa is a design educator and is passionate about raising interest and awareness about the importance of design for human development and life sustainance. What we do We design products furniture, lighting and home accessories and try to make them understandable and accessible to the everyday consumer. We work with investors, manufacturers and retailers to bring iconic and innovative new ideas to market so that people may make better product choices and become more discerning as consumers. In doing this we believe that we are questioning and contributing to the understanding of our own behaviour as natural beings in a man made world. We also offer educational workshops and can work on a range of 3D design projects to commission under the creative direction of Ilsa Parry from conception to production. Our vision We want to start from scratch... We believe that education holds the key to progression... We want people to reevaluate, ask questions, seek alternative solutions, take risks and better understand the world that has been built for them and which exists all around them. We want people to discover ways to do things better, products that work FOR them, we want people to be more like themselves. We don’t want to dictate how people should live, we want to assist people to live THEIR lives in a way that better suits them but we must also convince them to try new things in order to do this... We want to make people think... We want to make people understand things... We want more things that make you think... We want to REthinkthings REthinkthings are currently working towards the future aim of setting up a North West based “innovation centre” where aspiring designers who seek to improve the world in which we live but who may be suffering unfortunate skills gaps due to the poor focus of the current education system, can gain access to valuable product development opportunities and business support so that innovation can eventually become more commonplace with the ultimate goal of using design to assist humanity in spite of the temptation to design for profit in the face of capitalisation.
